As clean water becomes more expensive to acquire and the cost to pump water increases, the need for secure water containment grows. Efficient operation of any aquaculture facility requires consistent water volumes, high water quality, and low operating costs. Additionally, the siting of aquaculture facilities, like other food producing facilities, has become more difficult as concern continues to increase for clean surface water and groundwater resources.
Installing a GLASSFLAKE lining is the solution. Glassflake pool paint linings have permeability rates up to 20 times lower than any other system. This helps keep pond water volume consistent, also keeps waste product contained, and prevents the intrusion of groundwater borne pollutants from entering aquaculture ponds. Dissolved oxygen levels are also easier to maintain.
GLASSFLAKE LININGS can be repeatedly cleaned and disinfected with no decrease in the linings performance. They have a high resistance to aggressive acids, alkalis, hypochlorite bleaches, and hot water. GLASSFLAKE LINING SYTEMS
Have been used in industry for the past 25 years in Chemical Plants, Acid Tank linings, Sewage Plants and various other aggressive environments where standard systems fail.
Glasscote linings are reinforced with glass flakes which increase the permeability factor to 20 times that of glass fiber reinforced and un reinforced resins.
Osmosis is the main cause of failure of immersed coatings and linings. This is solved by the incorporation of glass flakes. Approximately 125 layers in every 1mm of lining.
